Review of the Lauterbrunnen Ski Resort. Apres. There are a few hotel bars in Lauterbrunnen but you have the option of popping down to sample the huge choice in Interlaken or staying on the mountain after the lifts close in Wengen or Murren and getting a late train down (but be sure you catch the last one, Cinderella, or it's a long, cold walk).
This is a 3hr.11min journey with 3-4 transportation changes. Once you arrive at Interlaken Ost, you walk over to track 2A and take the 22-minute ride on the local Jungfraubahn into Lauterbrunnen. Very scenic. At Lauterbrunnen, you walk across the street to the gondola station and up you go. 6 minutes later, you are at Grutshalp.

I didn’t mean to scare you. 😊 You’d just have more options a little later in the season. Some of the best views are from Murren—just walking from the train station through the town and then the trail from Murren down to Gimmelwald. I also enjoy walking down in Lauterbrunnen once you get past all the hotels. I’d keep your hotels as is.
1171 posts. Hi Lisa, I have been to all the locales you mention- Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Gimmelwald and Murren. The views of the mountain faces of the Eiger, Munch and Jungfrau from Murren are breathtaking and that makes Murren #1 in my book. To get between Lauterbrunnen and Murren takes just 20 minutes.
