on the 1.5 at least, there's a bit more to it than that. As well as the sump, also involves work at the front of the engine including removing aux belt, timing chain cover, timing chain, timing pulley, balancer shaft pulley etc, which seems a fair bit of work and I guess would make it worthwhile renewing other parts (e.g. timing chain) while in there. Wet belts seem like all the downsides of chains (need oiling, need tensioning, need a timing cover/chamber) with all the downsides of belts thrown in (limited service life) valhalla. Mechanic.
